I tried this dish in my trip to Nepal last year. And it immediately became my favourite. It’s a naughty, vegetarian snack. Good to make, when you have guests at the door. Kids love it as it kind of junky.
Ingredients:
Potatoes: 3-5
Besan flour- 1 cup
Water- cup
Ginger -1 inch
Garlic- 5 cloves
Smoked paprika- 1 teaspoon
Salt
Pepper
You can add chillies and coriander if you like.
Oil
Directions:
Slice potatoes as thin as can possibly can.
Make a batter. Mix water with besan flour add all other ingredients.
Heat an oil in a frying pan about 1 -1.5 cm in depth.
Dip potato slices in a batter, shake the excess off and put into oil. Takes around 45 seconds on each side.
Delicious! I love pakora too…
