I was making this salad today, and asked myself “why can’t i decorate it”, and i did. I guess when you start with decorating food, it’s hard to stop.
I have been making this salad, for years and it’s very popular in my family.
ingredients:
Beetroot- 5 medium sized.
Garlic- 2 cloves, finely grated.
Raisins- 1/2 cup
Cheese (cheddar)- 50 g, finely grated.
Coriander- 5 stems with leaves, chopped.
Mayonnaise- 1/2 cup
Little salt.
Pomegranate- 2/3 cup,for decoration, also it adds kick to a salad
Directions:
Boil beetroots with skin on, till easily pierced. Peel the skin (under called running water, when still hot, push the skin and it will come off easily). Let it cool completely and grate it.
Soak raisins for 5 minuets (not more, otherwise will become soggy) in a tepid water. Drain.
Mix all the ingredients in a bowl, then transfer to a plate and shape it as heart (very easy to do) decorate with pomegranate.
What a coincidence, I’ve just recently tried this salad at my friend’s place, it was delicious! Now I know the recipe! Thank you 🙂
