Deep fried potatoes, should really be a thing of the past. As oven baked much healthier, more nutritious, affordable and less time consuming. Also you can unfuse them with a lot of flavors. I like to dip them in a sour cream with a little crushed garlic and some chives.
Ingredients:
Potatoes-8 medium sized.
Smoked paprika-1 teaspoon
Garlic powder-1/2 teaspoon
Fresh rosemary- 3 teaspoons
Dry thyme- 1/2 teaspoon
Olive oil-2 tablespoons
Salt, pepper
Direction:
Preheat the oven to 200C. You will reduce the temperature later.
Wash and dry potatoes and cut them in s similar sized wedges.
Transfer to a baking tray , add all the ingredients mix all well and put in the oven. Reduce the temperature to 150C.
Turn them gently over every 15 minuets it should take 45 min or so till done. Serve as a side dish or on it’s own with your favorite dip.
Those look amazing! I love potatoes so much, and we also oven-bake them frequently.

This is such a great way to do spuds! I do something similar when we have steak. The whole idea of making “chips” always bothers me that you have to use so much oil that gets more and more manky the more often you use it or else you have to throw it out after you use it once. Start doing this and you can chuck your chip pan out (does anyone still have a chip pan?)! What’s not to love?

Loved this blend. I do make a little milder wedges for my toddlers. You may like to read about it.

Thank you so much for this recipe! I gave it a try tonight and it was fabulous – the added rosemary just does the trick!
Stored bought wedges really have nothing on some good old homemade wedges 🙂
Looking forward to some more delicious recipes!

Reblogged this on Home Made Dreams! and commented:
Who needs to fry with this recipe? Over the years we’ve learned at home how much better is baking over frying. From health to flavor, the only turn back is that it takes longer, but is a small price to pay for a healthier you!

Yum. I love wedged potatoes. I can’t understand why anybody buys frozen chips anymore when it is so simple and tasty to make your own 🙂
