Flat Bread stuffed with Feta, Haloumi and Herbs.

I encourage you to make this, as this dish will be loved by everyone. Moderate difficulty level and lots of fun to make.

Ingredients:

Kefir- 1 cup.

Sour cream – 1 cup.

Butter- 100 g. melted.

Sugar- 1 teaspoon.

Salt- 1/2 teaspoon.

Bicarbonate soda- 1/2 teaspoon.

Flour- 5-6 cups, or as much as it takes.

For the stuffing:

Haloumi- 250g, grated.

Feta- 250 g. grated.

Chives, parsley, cilantro, dill- 1/2 cup each, chopped.

Sour cream- 1/2 cup.

Butter- softened, 2 tablespoons, plus more for spreading on cooked breads.

Directions:

Mix kefir, sour cream and butter, add salt, sugar and soda, mix thoroughly. Add flour, and knead a dough for 5-10 minuets.( you are most welcome to use electronic equipment)

Divide the dough on 6-8 pieces , form each piece into a ball and set aside.

 

 

Mix all your stuffing ingredients.

Take one ball of dough and roll a flat bread place the stuffing on top, now carefully pick the ends of the bread and seal them together.

Turn over the stuffed bread and flatten it with your fingers.

Cook on a heated pan, preferably ceramic or non stick, with no oil needed, covered, till nicely browned on each side. Spread a little butter on each cooked bread. Keep covered. These are best when hot, but great cold or re-heated.

  1. Beautiful! This looks and sounds so much similar to Indian Flat breads called Paranthas. I make a variant out of local Cottage Cheese, but I am so tempted to try out your version of the filling. Totally Yum! 🙂

    1. Thank you , it does look similar but tastes completely different , I know Parathas very well and make them as well. If you look at ingredients for the dough , they are very different . This dish originates from Georgian Cuisine.)

      1. Totally. I would agree with that. The ingredients are totally different so definitely the end result would be different. I am sure it would be brilliant! I just couldn’t help noticing the similarities. 🙂
