Patatas Bravas. Spanish Cuisine.

My oven broke down on a weekend.((( And i can only use the stove, so since my kids were requesting baked potatoes, i remembered about Patatas bravas. These are very easy and incredibly tasty.

Numerous recipes that exist of this dish , but try this recipe and you wouldn’t be disappointed.

They go with many different sauces, but today, i am serving them with Hummus also marinated Pan fried chicken drumsticks.

Ingredients:

Potatoes – 1 kg, cut into 2cm pieces.

Smoked paprika- 1 teaspoon.

Black pepper- 1/2 teaspoon.

Salt.

Oil- 2 cups.

Pepper, paprika, salt- 1/2 teaspoon each for sprinkling.

Directions:

In a pot with 3 cups of water, add pepper, paprika and salt, after it boils addd potatoes, cook for 7 minuets. Drain and let them cool completely.

In a pot heat an oil and when really hot ( you can test it with a piece of potato). Add potatoes to an oil and cook till nice and golden brown. Set aside on a paper towel.

Transfer to a bawl and sprinkle with pepper/salt/paprika mixture. Serve with your favourite dipping sauce.
